Developing leadership confidence and capability

The Foundry is home to a community of organisations working for positive social change. I delivered the Intentional Leadership workshop for a group of leaders from across the community at The Foundry, which combined structured reflection, group coaching and peer learning.

Beginning with participants’ real experiences, we explored:
 

• What felt strong in their leadership and what felt heavy;

• What their organisation needed them to strengthen, change or let go of;

• How they wanted others to experience their leadership;

• Practical experiments to take back into their work.

Working alongside leaders who understood the pressures helped participants challenge assumptions, hear different perspectives and find new ways into problems they had been carrying alone.

With protected space to focus on their own leadership, participants left with new perspective, stronger connection and greater personal accountability:

• “This has unlocked a new way of approaching my problem.”

• “I now feel much less alone.”

• “This is going to help me stay accountable to myself.”

This workshop is about creating a thoughtful space in which leaders can bring the questions that they need to, draw on the intelligence of their peers and turn their reflections into action.
